What We Do

A-1 Custom Cabinets, Inc has manufactured quality kitchen and bathroom cabinets for discriminating customers since 1970.  While other cabinet shops have come and gone, A-1 Custom Cabinets has stood the test of time.  Our time-honored craftsmanship has helped make us one of the premier custom cabinet shops in Tampa Bay.

Privately owned and operated, A-1 Custom Cabinets, Inc. takes pride in the company's ability to manufacture a diverse range of quality products.  Because we build our cabinets in our state-of -the-art shop, you will have a multitude of styles and finishes from which to choose.

No job too big or too small, we even have a commercial department for large output.  A-1 Custom Cabinets is a full service company that provides everything from design to installation.  Let us show you how our custom cabinetry can fit into your budget and turn your project into a work of art.

Where We've Been

In 1970, Clarence Peck started a small shop in Clearwater called A-1 Custom Cabinets.  The company continued under its original ownership, at its original location until 1994 when it was sold to Clearwater High School graduates Rick Amorose and Art Whitney.  This transaction was especially nostalgic for Art because his first job was at A-1 Custom Cabinets.  After a two year stint, he went to work for other cabinet shops and building contractors before pursuing fame in the illustrious band “The Fanatics.”   Rick was also a member of the band before becoming a top-notch realtor and Art’s silent partner.  In 1996, Rick was bought out by a not-so-silent partner name Diane Zitello, an astute woman who two years later became Diane Whitney.  As co-owners, they upgraded the operations with state-of-the-art machinery allowing for exceptional quality and increased production.  Sadly, but gladly, they retired the slogan “In it’s same Clearwater location since 1970” when expansion required a move.  The new location, just a block away, provided an additional 6,000 square feet where they were able to install more equipment and open their own finishing department.  With the approach of the company's 40th anniversary, the couple are both proud and overwhelmed by the many blessings they have received.
